So, I have a few ideas, but what is stopping me is the lack of technology and time to do something really fun. So I might have to just keep it really simple, maybe a little boring to some viewers, but hopefully it comes together better than hoped.
My first idea, is to talk about my journey on finding an apartment, in such a bad housing market right now. The goal is trying to find something within budget, that includes pg and e, and is within reasonable driving distance. Another idea I have is to talk about the three favorite dishes I love to eat, breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a bonus of dessert. The next idea I had was to talk about the different experiences that I have had since I turned 21…this one appeals to me the most, since I have a few funny stories and it allows for room for creativity.
So, I think I am most likely going to go with the last idea, but I am still unsure of how to be creative, original, yet simple all at the same time..who know? Maybe I’ll completely suprise you guys!

The trip to Adobe was very informative and fun. I am very new to all of the Adobe products and have not been exposed to them until this year. I am glad that I got the opportunity to learn all that I did through this fieldtrip. Below are some of my favorite applications and features that I learned about at Adobe.
1. InDesign – I liked the Smart Guides that have been added to CS4. They allow users to rotate and edit objects at one time.
2. Dreamweaver – I had actually never seen this program and liked the adjustments panel. It makes the program more user-friendly.
3. Photoshop – I really liked the non-destructive corrections feature in the adjustments panel. It makes it easier to adjust features on a photo without destroying it.

Adobe Fieldtrip
It was nice being able to have gone to Adobe for the IDUG meeting last week. I was hoping that the tutorial would be interesting and show me a lot about what is going to be new in CS4. I was looking forward to seeing what would be new because I CS3 and enjoy using the product. Leading the presentation was one of Adobe’s leading software experts and applications engineer. She introduce some new features that would be available in CS4.
User interface
1) Work faster and smarter across Adobe Creative Suite® 4 components with a shared user interface design. Toggle quickly from one work environment to the next with the workspace switcher.
Dreamweaver
2) In Dreamweaver there is now an option to work in. Before the designer had to work in the design mode then preview the webpage in a web browser to see how their design looked live. Now there is a live mode that allows the designer to design live.
Rich expressiveness
3) This feature allows the user more power to creative and more flexibility within the different programs.
Over all I had a good time at Adobe and really enjoy all the new updates that where done to CS4

Adobe seems like a really cool place. The presentation was interesting and I am glad that I had the chance to learn about the changes in the Adobe Creative Suite. I do not consider myself an expert in ID3 but I still found the new features in ID4 more practical and efficient. The features I appreciated are the following:
1. The ability to have different tabs in ID4 makes working on multiple parts of a project easier much like researching different things on my web browser .In ID3, I was not able to maneuver through the program as easily.
2. The smart guides allow duplication of pictures in the same size easier. I would have to measure the dimensions in the old program. You expand the picture to a certain point and the smartguides will appear as green arrows that you use to duplicate the picture.
3. Smart text reflow, in which edited pages and parts are automatically moved to the end of the project, allows the user to never lose potentially important information. For instance, I write my papers without stopping and edit them later. While I edit these papers, I would not have to selectively save information that I edited. Instead I would just have to look at the last page.
4. Also, exporting to flash is a great addition if I learned how to use flash I could be able to incorporate moving images in my newsletters.
Overall, I don’t know if I would invest in ID4, but I will look forward to the day that my employer uses it.

Adobe Fieldtrip
I thought the trip to adobe was very informational and a great learning experience. I thought the adobe building alone was amazing! One of the great things was the pizza and soda they offered at the meeting. The pizza was really good too! Another great thing about this meeting was that they offered a raffle. With this raffle they were giving away to the winners’ software, including the new CS4! Around $1800 in software, which I thought was extremely generous and just shows what kind of company adobe is.
I learned a lot about adobe itself. I was unaware that they offered these sorts of meetings every other month and also had a chance to learn about their other office in San Francisco.
I’m a newbie when it comes to CS3 and need I say more, learned a lot with working with the programs alone, such as Photoshop, InDesign, etc. etc.
A few of the changes I thought were neat was first of all they added the feature in which in the programs you could now export to flash. I thought that was a great feature to add so that the work was more versatile when in an office environment. Another neat new feature was one in Photoshop, in which were the UI abilities. One more feature I thought was very beneficial was the ability to rotate your work so it was more accessible.
Those are just a few of the many features they have added in CS4. The meeting was around two hours long and the speaker barely had any time to skim over the amount of new features in which they added. This alone shows that she could have gone on for quite a while showing and telling about the new great stuff adobe is putting out to their users to make their life a little easier.

Going to adobe was pretty fun especially because there was free pizza! There were a lot things that have changed on every program. I really thought the meeting was gonna be long but, it went by pretty fast. I enjoyed watching the new features of most of the programs especially photoshop. Indesign CS4 had many new features but, these three were my favorite:
1. The Smart Guides: The guides will turn a certain color then the spacing is correct. The lady conducting the meeting made a joke about creating a box to make sure the spaces were equal and I laughed to myself because I fit in that category.
2. Broken Links: Its Pretty cool in CS4 it will tell you if you need to update an image that you have updated or changed. The arrow will change into a different color and if you click on the arrow, it will automatically change it.
3.Page transitions: In CS4 you can change pages as if your reading a story. The pages flip on the corner like your flipping them out of a book. Thats pretty cool that features aren’t just fun but functional.
All in all it was a wonderful field trip! =D

I actually have a copy of the Master Suite on the, thanks to a friend at Adobe and I am very excited by the demonstrations at the ID User Group.
I use photoshop on a daily basis and I was very excited by the UI changes and the fact that it automatically sets up adjustment layers. The auto-layer feature is an amazing time saver. I am also interested in the updates to Camera Raw.
Flash integration also seems really cool. I loved that you can create projects in ID and translate them directly into a Flash reable file.
I also like the live preflight that gives you a red light and highlights areas in your workspace where you have problems.

I was very impressed with my experience at Adobe. I had never been in a company building that big before. Getting my own ID badge at the front desk made me feel like an important person. It was truly an honor to be in the same with so many industry professionals. This class has been my only experience with the Adobe Creative Suite program, so I felt that many of the new features being introduced were way over my head.
There were many features added to all of the programs on CS4, but my top three favorites added to InDesign were the fallowing:
1. In CS3 when you made a mistake from the editors presetting you would have to go to pre-flight to find these errors, but now there is a light on the bottom that remains green when your project is ready for print and turns red when it is not. I thought this was a very helpful feature. It shows you where your mistakes are and even suggest how to fix them.
2. I also liked that now if you are working on something with a sideways or upside down image you can rotate your project making it easier to work on it with out having to change it.
3. Lastly, one of the best things they have added was the way that things can now be arranged. Everything is more convenient, so going back and fourth from documents does not take as long. Same concept has been added to links. Now you have a thumbnail of the link, so you can see exactly what the link is. It also takes up less space and you no longer and stuck having to dig deep down into old files.

The trip to Adobe was pretty cool, even though I’m not really familiar with too many Adobe programs. The Adobe facilities were really nice and clean. Also, we were able to get tons of free pizza and drinks, courtesy of Adobe. I also thought it was cool how they raffled off prizes, some worth up to $1800. The speakers were very knowledgable and seemed to really get into it.
Some of the new features seemed really cool but some I didn’t understand too well because I don’t know how to use Indesign too well. One of the things I thought was interesting was the concent aware scaling, which is able to read hard lines so certain parts of the image doesn’t get stretch out or look funny.
Also, another new feature is the spread rotation, allowing users to rotate the spread on the board. The user is now able to view the page from different angles.
One feature I thought was one of the coolest was the way the pages turned. It looked like a real magazine or book, with the page being turned.
One feature I also really liked was how the 2D and 3D imagines combined and became one but I don’t think it was done by Indesign. I just thought it was interesting.

I had a good experience on my trip to Adobe. Unfortunately, I got there 50 minutes before it started so I had to wait a while. However, once I got in it was okay. I felt really out of place being there because there were all these professionals really seeking to learn this for their career and I was here for a class so I felt really out of place. The pizza was a really nice kicker. The presentation started off with a lady talking about what she was going to go over. I also got a free T-shirt which was really cool.
Here are some new features in Adobe InDesign CS4:
Live Preflight: This feature shows you if you have any errors in your project. It has a panel that shows you exactly what is wrong with the project and suggestions to fix the problem.
Spread Rotation: This lets you rotate your document 90 degrees temporarily to work on documents with vertical text. Making it easier to work on your projects.
Smart Guides and Smart Spacing: This option lets you see the guides when you are moving your objects and disappears when you are done. It also lets you move multiple objects the evenly.
